You've Got Questions, We've Got Answers!
Here are our most frequently asked great questions!
Good question! This decision is often to plan for fall as it can offer milder temperatures, which is great but it this time of year can also have a few unique challenges as well.
Weather related decisions…
In our southeast region, the most requested months are May/June and September/October, mostly because these months have a reputation for mild weather. However we have had great outdoor picnics and weather in April, July, August and even the first part of November!
Also, for our peak summer months (July and August) if needed due to higher than average temperatures, we can provide options for extra shading and fans to provide additional comfort for your guests.
Timing related decisions…
Since most companies like to provide some form of appreciation or recognition at the Christmas/ holiday season, we suggest that companies consider having their picnic event in the first half of the year. This allows companies to space out their appreciation activities with a more even, semi-annual timeline that provides for a more strategically planned appreciation plan that helps keep employees better motivated and encouraged between events.
In addition, there can be strong attendance competition for Saturdays in the fall months because of school/college games and large community festivals. So for that reason, we encourage our clients to consider the summer months, and/or Sunday events from 1-5pm for a Family Fun Day.
Equipment and availability….
As previously mentioned, if you are planning your event for a Saturday in May, June, September or October, plan to book early! Remember, there are only about 4 weekends per month to go around!
Depends, on your intent, goal and budget.
A family-fun day can be a great way for co-workers to feel extra special and proud being able to bring their family to an event that is honoring them! It can be a great source of pride for them especially if their management/leadership team is there to greet and show appreciation. In addition, when co-workers can see their fellow co-workers with their families, (playing with their kids/grandkids, introducing their spouse, etc.), and in casual wear, it can help them to see, understand and/or relate with them in a more meaningful way.
A great family day will not only have activities designed to bring the employees (adults) together, but most also include plenty of activities for the kids too! Fortunately, we have a super-great inventory of activities to keep both young and old engaged and having fun!
Employee only events can be a really great, smart way to not only show appreciation and recognition but it's also the perfect opportunity for team-building and connection!
